Q. Do classes offer certification credit?
Students may register for Individual Projects (Art 929) college credit through Iowa Central Community College by creating a personalized learning plan. An individualized syllabus will be developed in consultation with experienced professional faculty. To register for this credit, you must request an application for Individual Project form (available from Legacy Learning (888-832-0012) or the Iowa Central Humanities Department (515-574-1191) .
You may combine workshop opportunities to create your unique plan. Art credits require 30 hours of commitment for each credit. This will be accomplished through class activities, creative components and learning opportunities such as museum visits and/or research.
Please contact Maureen Seamonds at 515-835-0497 at least two weeks in advance of your class to discuss your goals and objectives for this learning activity and develop the syllabus that will document the conditions for your project. The Individual Project form must be submitted to the Dean and Director of Student Records with an attached syllabus and approved before the start of class to be taught for Iowa Central college credit. Costs for credit are extra beyond the tuition price of the class and are collected independently with on-line registration by Iowa Central Community College. Please call Maureen with any questions, 515-835-0497.
